Sensory stimulation kits have the potential to evoke a variety of responses in clients with Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias. The therapist selects objects pertaining to a particular theme that utilize each of the five senses, with the exception of taste.
Activities[]
Tropical Themed Sensory Stimulation Kit: Include a tropical scented candle (smell), a cocunut (touch/sight), Hawaiian Leis (sight/touch), and play "Margaritaville" or another island themed song (sound).
Baseball Themed Sensory Stimulation Kit: Include a box of cracker jacks (smell), a baseball (touch), a picture of a baseball field (sight), and play "Take Me out to the Ball Game" (sound).
